Last weekend was Freeform Festival, which is a volunteer run East Coast based transformational arts and music festival. This one was in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. And in the Poconoes. I had so much fun. Good friends and good art.
My camp was Echo Camp. Basically, it was about half Space Pirates and half Echo. Many people are part of both groups. You could tell by the necklaces and bracelets. The next camp over was the Pirates. There, we teamed up together on Saturday lunch. The Space Pirates brought the meat and the pirates brought the wood powered grill.
We brought a pork shoulder. A huge pork shoulder. Myself and Alfred, Thunderstick, picked up the meat from the Italian Market in Philadelphia. I brought all my Brazilian BBQ supplies for the grill.
Feeding the Festival
When one skewer was done, I ran around the camp sites. Feeding friends and complete strangers. So I held the skewer, espetu, and the platform, plataforma. And I gave people the tongs, pinces and the knife, faca. With that, they came running out to cut themselves off a piece.
So it made me very happy to feed my camp of Burners and others. No sauces or seasoning. Totally back to basics with simply just a sprinkle of salt. Below is a picture of me, Matthew Baron, and I’m wearing a cowboy hat in all my glory.
